Opera with a difference: experience ‘Salome’, ‘Lohengrin von Wolfratshausen’ and ‘Don Giovanni’ not sung, but spoken in genuine Bavarian dialect! After their great success in 2024, the three Bavarian acting stars Gerd Anthoff, Monika Gruber and Michael Lerchenberg return to the Graz Opera House to present these humorous, cheeky and charming reinterpretations of world-famous operas in their inimitable style! Classics of opera literature and original dialect verses merge to create an extremely entertaining experience full of wit and passion. The evening will be accompanied by percussionist Philipp Jungk and the ‘Ensemble Opern auf Bayrisch’ (members of major Munich orchestras) under the direction of Andreas Kowalewitz. The successful production has been a fixture on numerous stages far beyond the borders of Bavaria for over 40 years. ‘Opern auf Bayrisch’ – an absolute cult favourite – and almost always sold out!
